Procman is an application that lists system processes and monitors system usage. Procman shows which processes are running and how those processes are related to each other in a table that the user can easily read and search. It also provides detailed information about individual processes and allows the user to control which processes are running. Procman also displays how much processor (CPU) capacity the system is using, how much memory and swap space the system is using, and how much disk space the system is taking up on each device. Procman displays this information in a clear graphical display so that users can easily understand what the system is doing. Users can then modify the behavior of the system through the same clear graphical display.
To run Procman, select SYSTEM->Procman System Monitor from the Main Menu, or type Procman on the command line.
Procman is included in the procman package, which is part of the GNOME desktop environment. This document describes version 1.00 of Procman.
